Wellness
The Wellness/Health program at Joseph H. Martin Middle School includes grades 5-7 and contains health courses that are designed to provide students with the knowledge and skills necessary to make good health decisions. The program has adopted the Massachusetts Comprehensive Health Curriculum Framework‘s core concepts: health, literacy, health self-management, and health promotion. Some of the topics/units discussed are vaping/smoking, the health triangle, hygiene, mental health, nutrition, and the negative effects of drugs/alcohol. Every student will have 30 classes of health education each school year.
